Accreditation & recognition
On July 17, 2026, the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) issued a Show Cause Directive to Maestro University. Show Cause is a restrictive administrative status assigned when an institution must demonstrate why its accreditation should not be withdrawn.
In accordance with DEAC procedures, the University is submitting a comprehensive response and an updated Teach-Out Plan to ensure student continuity. You may view the official DEAC Public Notice and Summary of Reasons directly on the DEAC Website.
Maestro University remains fully accredited while the Show Cause Directive is in effect. This directive was issued following a review of compliance concerns surrounding Standard II.A Owners, Governing Board Members, Officials, and Administrators; Standard II.B. Reputation of Institution, Owners, Governing Board Members, Administrators, and Other Officials; Standard II.D. Maintaining Eligibility for Accreditation; Standard III.A. Mission Achievement; Standard III.B. Strategic Planning; Standard XI.E. Financial Disclosures; Standard XIII.F. Advertising and Promotion; and, Standard XIII.G. Institution and Course Accredited-Status Recognition.
